Where Are You Moving From?
Five city-specific relocation guides with real cost-of-living comparisons, commute data, school ratings, and honest community recommendations. We include the parts nobody else will say — including when Phoenix costs more.
Folsom, CA → Chandler
Intel Folsom → Intel Ocotillo
The strongest financial case. California's tax burden makes the math obvious. $25K–$37K/year in combined savings.
Hillsboro, OR → Chandler
Intel Ronler Acres → Intel Ocotillo
Oregon's 9.9% income tax drops to Arizona's 2.5%. Sharpest climate reversal of all five cities.
Austin, TX → Chandler
NXP Austin → NXP Chandler
Narrow margin. Texas has no income tax but triple the property tax. This is a career ecosystem decision, not a savings play.
Columbus, OH → Chandler
Intel Ohio One → Intel Ocotillo
The winter escape. Phoenix costs more, but 299 sunny days vs 166 changes the calculation for families tired of Ohio grey.
Rio Rancho, NM → Chandler
Intel Rio Rancho → Intel Ocotillo
The career optionality play. Phoenix costs significantly more, but 68+ employers vs Intel-only changes the risk profile.
How We Calculate
Monthly savings = (take-home difference) + (cost-of-living difference). Take-home calculated using 2025 federal tax brackets, FICA, and state-specific rates. Costs include mortgage (30yr fixed, 20% down, 7.0%), property tax, utilities, groceries, and childcare.
Data sources: BLS Consumer Expenditure Survey 2024, Zillow Home Value Index Q4 2025, Numbeo Q1 2026, Tax Foundation 2025. All figures are estimates.
We're honest when Phoenix costs more. Two of our five guides show Phoenix as the more expensive option. We publish both because semiconductor relocators deserve accurate data, not sales pitches.
Don't See Your City?
We're adding more feeder city guides as the corridor grows. The data layer supports any US city with semiconductor operations.
